R U OK? Day

At Coronado, we recognise that the health and wellbeing of our employees is critical to our success and fundamental to our CARE values. We are committed to taking proactive steps to strengthen the support, resources, and initiatives available to our people, including continuing to raise awareness around the importance of mental health and the significant value of taking the time to authentically check-in with each other.

To further develop a culture where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported, our team in Brisbane recently explored the concept of the “Wellness Bystander”.

On 11 September 2025, we partnered with Michael Sanford, 2023 Australian of the Year Finalist and founder of Bunyarra Wellbeing Co, to deliver an interactive R U OK? Day session. The workshop explored the importance of being an active bystander, recognising when someone may not be okay and taking time to reach out. Michael challenged us all to consider how we feel when we sense someone is in need of a chat, question our instincts are in those situations, and think about how we could react differently in order to get a more effective response.

A reminder to everyone: It’s OK to check on someone.
A small check-in can make a big difference.
