Rebuilding together at Chief Logan State Park
After devastating floods in June impacted one of West Virginia’s most beloved parks, Chief Logan State Park, the local community rallied in an inspiring show of support and our Coronado team was proud to be part of it.
Coronado employees from our Logan environmental crew participated in the clean up following flash flooding of the park which caused extreme damage to the roads, creeks/streams, and also fallen trees across the park property. The storm and flooding had a tremendous impact on the state park which many visit all year round.
A special mention to our volunteers:
Leonard Nicholas – Manager of Environmental Crew
Leonard led and oversaw the work being done in the clean-up efforts as well as arranged for shot rock to be hauled from the Toney Fork surface operation to the park for building up the creek banks and roads.
James Ratliff and Derek Toler
James and Derek ran dump trucks to haul the shot rock to the park every morning, then throughout the day ran them to haul away the debris which was cleaned up by the excavators.
Randall Tiller and Dallas Nichols
Randall and Dallas ran excavators to restore the creeks and streams, clean up debris from the property, and build the roads back up.
