AUSTRALIA
Our Curragh mine site is our biggest global asset. Located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin near the town of Blackwater, the complex — Curragh Main and Curragh North — produces metallurgical coal. This coal is transformed in the steel making process to support the manufacture of everyday steel-based products, including renewable energy infrastructure that enriches lives around the world.
We are proud of the significant role we have played in the region for nearly 40 years as an employer, a business partner, and a major part of the Blackwater community.
Coronado has a clear growth strategy for Curragh. With approximately a 20-year life of mine, we offer great job stability for our team.
In Brisbane, our office is located on Queen Street in the city’s CBD. We have modern, spacious offices designed to enable effective collaboration within and across the business.
Opportunities are now open for people who want to work together, take ownership and drive safety and production excellence.
Coronado’s commitment to an inclusive workplace takes employees’ flexibility needs seriously. We respect our team members’ wishes to design work arrangements with their other life responsibilities in mind. Across our company, we aim to offer flexible work where it meets both business and individual needs. Check out our Flexible Work guidelines for options.
Our Employee Benefits program (see below) rewards hard work and commitment. It includes a wide range of financial and personal benefits relating to health, wealth, home, career and community.

UNITED STATES
Coronado’s U.S. operations are in the Central Appalachian region in Virginia and West Virginia and produce a suite of high-quality metallurgical coal products. We have three mining complexes — Buchanan Mine, Logan Mine, and Greenbrier Mine.
We are committed to building constructive and genuine relationships with the communities close to our operations and have a proud history of supporting community groups in several neighbouring counties, including Buchanan, Tazwell Logan, Wyoming and Greenbrier.
Buchanan is one of the largest metallurgical longwall producing mining properties in North America with supporting infrastructure that produces Low-Vol Met Coal and reserve capacity plus 20-year life plan. Coronado acquired Buchanan mine from CONSOL in March 2016. Annual production averages 4.5MMt, using a single longwall system supported by six continuous miner sections.
Logan consists of four active underground mines (Powellton #1, Lower War Eagle, Eagle #1, and Muddy Bridge) and supporting infrastructure that produce High-Vol Met coal using the room and pillar mining method and one inactive surface mine. The Logan complex life plan includes 12 proposed mines, consisting of nine underground mines and three surface mines. The property is in Logan, Boone, and Wyoming counties in Southern West Virginia. Coronado acquired the Logan complex in 2014 and has an annual production of 2MMt.
The Greenbrier mine is currently inactive but has both Underground and Surface mining capabilities.
The U.S. operations are supported by the U.S. Corporate office located in Beckley, West Virginia. Professional employees located in Beckley come from Finance and Accounting, Engineering, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Information Technology and Operations.
